HR Advisor

Millcroft Veterinary Group is a fiercely independent, six centre, mixed practice in the western Lake District. We currently have an opportunity for a HR professional to join our friendly team. 

Millcroft Veterinary Group is a member of XLVets, a community of independently-owned veterinary practices.

Main purposes of the role:

Working with the Practice Manager and Team Leaders to ensure the practice has motivated, happy and engaged team members through the implementation and use of up to date, flexible and creative HR policies and processes.

Providing HR administration leadership - keep up to date with tasks/responsibilities current employment legislation and HR trends, creating solutions with the Team Leaders and Practice Manager, which can be implemented in the practice

HR policies and processes - working with the Team Leaders to create, maintain and monitor all policies, processes and documentation, ensuring they are up to date and relevant. Having appropriate conversations to raise any concerns

HR admin - provide administration support where necessary for any employment changes (eg maternity letters), updates (eg pay offers) or systems/processes eg (recruitment, performance management). Manage variations to contract/flexible working requests.

Performance management - Working with the Team Leaders and Practice Manager, manage the performance management process ensuring it happens according to policy and timescales, and pertinent information is captured and stored.

Personal development - Working with the Team Leaders ensure individual development needs are collated, coordinated and delivered.

Recruitment - Working with the relevant Team Leaders, support the recruitment and selection process, ensuring it happens according to policy.

Branding - Manage the employer brand in all external communications

Part-time hours

Permanent

Salary - £16,000-£24,000 per year

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week

Education: Certificate of Higher Education/ CIPD Level 3 or beyond
